Scoil Samhraidh Chris Langan 2008

Last updated: 16th July 2008

We have just completed yet another extremely successful Scoil Samhraidh Chris Langan. A lively weekend was had in the town of Rush, where there were many sessions held.
The Gala Concert, held on Friday night in the Millbank Theatre, was a treat for all, especially the proud parents of our young musicians and dancers, who practiced so hard over the last few months.
Saturday's headline concert with Kila performing at the Millbank Theatre was explosive!! Already, we have had some fantastic feedback from members of Kila themselves regarding how much they enjoyed the weekend, both as tutors and as performers at the Millbank Theatre.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, there was a great turnout for all our workshops, with lots of lively music and dancing in Rush National School.

We are also thrilled to let you know that we collected €200 for St. Maur's Parish Angola Project at the Dancing at the Crossroads on Sunday. Thank you all for your generosity.

It must be acknowledged that none of the success of the Scoil Samhraidh Chris Langan 2008 would have happened had it not been for the dedicated team that are the Rinceoil Fingal Committee and their helpers, who have been planning and putting into action all the events that happened over the weekend. Well done to all and a well deserved rest is on the cards - for a little while anyway!!
Thanks, too, to all the parents, whose co-operation and support for Concert practices and performances has been most appreciated.
And finally, thanks to all the children and adults who participated so fully in any way over the weekend, whether in concert practices, performances or attendance at the workshops. This is what Rinceoil Fingal is about - participation, fun and learning traditional music and dance!!

By the way, if you have photos of the various events over the Scoil Samhraidh weekend, send them to info@rinceoil.com, preferably in jpeg, in small format. We'd love to get them for our Photo Gallery. Be sure you have the permission of the people in the photos, especially if they are photos of children!
